Workout Spotlight: MixxedFit

I discovered MixxedFit® at the B.Fit B.Fab studio in the Olympia mall. I didn't know quite what to expect, but basically it was like a dance-club experience on a Sunday afternoon - which was perfect timing to get me pumped up for the Seahawks game. Dance moves include squats, arm toning exercises, lunges, and leg lifts.


Athlete of the Month: Megan Wheeler

12-time district champion, state champion, two-time All-American, winner of three junior national titles, and competitor at the 2004 Olympic Trials. However, a severe shoulder injury brought her dreams of going to the Olympics and becoming a professional swimmer to a halt. Yet, an end to an athletic career made way for other passions, and a much stronger person.


Athlete of the Month: Justin Wimberly

Justin could only play one sport growing up, and he chose football. Nearing the end of his career at Tumwater High School, he suffered a severe leg injury which would have ended many players' careers. But after an amazing recovery, he went on to play Tight End for the Whitworth Pirates.


Workout Spotlight: Orange Theory Fitness

Orange Theory Fitness is designed for each individual to get the optimal work out for them. Using a heart-rate monitor to get to the "Orange Zone," intervals of cardio and strength training tone your body during and after your workout. Great for post-sport athletes!
